Well, reading all the posts in the Random thread would not be very random, now, would it?

Re: Random~
I played along to "Bringing it Back" also this morning. It sounds complicated because Robby is really wailing away on the song, but the riffs are, independently, very simple techniques and easy to do. The trick lies in stringing them together.MovingPictures07 wrote:Awesome.Epignosis wrote:I am playing "Song for America" on the violin.

I love Kansas. Really it's been too long since I listened to them. Maybe I'll remedy that while grading.Epignosis wrote:I played along to "Bringing it Back" also this morning. Sweet. Does that mean further Epignosis will have violin on it?Epignosis wrote:I am playing "Song for America" on the violin.
Re: Random~
Indeed. However, recording electric violin is a little trickier than guitar in terms of getting the levels, equalization, and tone right.A Person wrote:Sweet. Does that mean further Epignosis will have violin on it?Epignosis wrote:I am playing "Song for America" on the violin.

Lately I have wanted to get an oud and learn to play it, I'm not sure why but they appeal to me more so than a guitar.

Our car got broken into last night, as did six or seven other cars in our neighborhood.
I guess whoever did it wasn't interested in my umbrella or collection of white people music.
"Yes? Tears for Fears? Kansas? What the hell is this?"

Re: Random~
I bought a new bike yesterday!
I bought it from a fellow on craigslist. After meeting up with him and telling him I'd like to buy it, he told me he didn't accept check. So I found an ATM, got some cash, and paid him for the bike. I then rode my new bike all the way home (maybe 5 mile ride). Upon getting home, I realized I had left my house keys in my gym locker at school. I rode back to school to get it, but then remembered that I didn't have a lock to lock my bike up. Then I went to a bike store to buy a cheap lock. That's when I discovered that I had left my debit card in the ATM I had visited earlier. Luckily, I still had some cash on hand, so I bought the lock, got my keys from my locker, then went home.
In the end, I've got a new road/touring bike I'm very excited about.

"My conscience won't let me go shoot my brother or some darker people or some poor, hungry people in the mud for big, powerful America. And shoot them for what? They never called me nigger, they never lynched me, they didn't put no dogs on me, they didn't rob me of my nationality, rape and kill my mother and father. Shoot them for what? How can I shoot them poor people? Poor little black people and babies and children and women. How can I shoot them poor people? Just take me to jail." — Muhammad Ali
