Lost Again Mafia (season 2) - Sign Ups
10 civs
3 baddies
3 power roles, the nature and identity of which will not be publicly revealed until death.
All roles will flip upon death.
A quick flick through the season one game thread could be useful, as the basic way the game works will be the same, but I won't be necessarily revealing the way things work unless it becomes game relevant - people will need to learn from game to game.
The power roles will be different, however.
First 13 sign ups are in. Say you are in and thread and vote in poll (when I get it up)! Go!

Re: Lost Again Mafia (season 2) - Sign Ups
SCIENTIFIC FACT:
The Swan Station plotline in this season was the best thing Lost ever did. I'd seriously watch a recut of the season that entirely consists of just all the footage set in the Swan. Anytime the season left the hatch, it got mediocre, give or take the Mr. Eko episodes.
(I'm still annoyed at that actor for leaving the show.)

I completely agree. It's why I still say season 2 is my favourite. The Henry Gale in the Swan plotline, in particular, is my favourite 3-4 episode run the show had.insertnamehere wrote:The Swan Station plotline in this season was the best thing Lost ever did.

I do agree that the Swan Station plot was pretty awesome. Daisy and I just rewatched LOST (after I kept saying no for years because I didn't want to re-confront the finale, lol) and I'd now rank the seasons something like...
4 > second half of 3 > 2 > 5 > 6 > 1 > first half of 3

And I would call 'second half of 3' everything from Tricia Tanaka on. I think that's where it turned.

Put John Locke followed by Benjamin Linus at the top, drop Eko and Richard, shift Daniel and Desmond down by 2 and Juliet by 1, and you've got my list.MovingPictures07 wrote:Mr. Eko was the shit. Re: Lost Again Mafia (season 2) - Sign Ups
I haven't really thought about ranking them, but my favourites changed and developed over time, and were different at different times. My top 5 would probably be (in some order) - Locke, Hurley, Desmond, Sayid and Claire (I had a crush, don't judge me).
Hare to leave out Eko, Charlie, Sawyer, Jin, Sun, Daniel and Frank, though!

Re: Lost Again Mafia (season 2) - Sign Ups
Season 4 was the only, IMO consistently good season. The rest all had parts that didn't really work. In Season 4, however, the flashforwards were awesome, the chopper crew were awesome, (although a little underserved by future seasons) hell, I even loved the boat. I honestly would have preferred a decreased episode order for most of the other seasons. I feel cutting down 4 or 5 episodes per season, maybe a bit more from the first couple, would have really helped out the show, even if we learned a bit less about the castaways. True, the meandering ways of those early seasons got us S.O.S. and Expose, but it also got us a hell of a lot more tedious repetitive character drama that filled time as we waited for either the really interesting characters to get screentime, or for the actual plot to progress.MovingPictures07 wrote:Golden wrote:So close to mine. Yeah, I'd agree with that.
The other Lost-based hill that I will die upon is that the final season should have had absolutely zero flashes, backwards, forwards, sideways, or otherwise. It would've allowed for the Temple to actually be interesting, (imagine if the castaways were there for 2 action-packed episodes instead of like, 5 interminable ones) for characters like Ilana to both serve a purpose and be disposed of properly instead of spontaneously exploding into irrelevance once they were no longer necessary to progress the plot, for the entire Jacob Vs. MiB plotline to be better fleshed out, and for the ending to feel like it mattered more.
Instead, they wanted a "twist".
And everyone overreacted.

Re: Lost Again Mafia (season 2) - Sign Ups
I do agree with a lot of this, and I absolutely agree that Season 6 could have been better served with more time devoted to it. Before my rewatch, I would have agreed with you completely; I hated the flash-sideways. I liked it better the second time around. I'd just say expand 6 into two Season-4-esque seasons of 6 and 7, and I think that would have been more ideal.insertnamehere wrote:Season 4 was the only, IMO consistently good season. Re: Lost Again Mafia (season 2) - Sign Ups
I think season 1 will always be my favorite because it held so much promise and we got to know the most important information about each of the main characters who hung around for the whole show. Everything was new- people, the Island, the music. So much was still open to interpretation without stalling the progress too much. The further into the series we got, the more defined things became, leaving less wonder and more 'um...okay.'
Without the luxury of re-watching pretty much any episode in six years, I'll go with 1>4>5>2>6>3

if this game has a mechanic where someone has to post "4 8 15 16 23 42" every 108 minutes or the game ends and everyone loses, it would be my favorite game I've ever played on this site.
