Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 2}
Rico, never once have you implied you are being forced to do this. If you are being forced to do this by a game mechanic, I will move my vote. I can also happily vote for G Man at this juncture becasue he reminds me totally of his bad game in BSG; calling irl, promising things that never happen, etc.
But I need you to tell me you have no choice here and you are being MADE to post in POPPY.

Are you lynching Ricochet because you believe he's bad and you need him dead to win, or are you lynching Ricochet because he is being annoying?

I am not sure. I put a pressure vote on him and he just No Ued me. As he has done to everyone.
I don't know if he's bad or not. He is not acting like a civ. Poppy is willfully disruptive. If you think he is civ, and others do too then we can agree to ignore Poppy until Poppy respects the rest of us and either stops or indicates that Poppy has no choice but to post in this bizarre way.

@Dys hope everything's ok
I'm sorta tempted to vote for Rico because I'm pretty damn sick of the annoyingness, but Epi's pushing me to reconsider since I don't really think Rico necessarily looks like/is behaving like a baddie. Like, he could be "hiding behind" the singsong bullshit and the no-u pattern, but I don't have a particularly strong reason to think that. But the more he's getting pushed on it and remaining stubborn, the more I'm doubting his innocence... idk. WIFOM and all that jazz. If I can't make up my mind on Rico I might join DH in voting for G-Man -- the points there don't feel like much but it's more than I have on anyone else.

As you can guess, we're looking up and down for a replacement. If you know anyone who may be interested, let 'em know about the game, and hopefully we can hash things out.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 2}
This'll be the last I make reference to anything Rico related.
I understand from a player-to-player level the desire to make fun gimmicks and such, but a gimmick has to strike a balance between being fun and actually participating in the hunt for mafia/baddies.
The question is, does Rico's gimmick do that? I don't think it does. I can't think of a single coherent thought or suspicion he's put out that wasn't "X thinks I'm bad for being Pop-Tart, so X must be bad." I invite Rico to correct me on this. (Technically I already did and he willfully chose not to, but we'll get to that)
The next point I want to make is - Does this PopTart business make Rico a baddie? Doing a gimmick might not mean someone is bad, but hiding behind that gimmick to the point where you aren't offering anything to discussion does not indicate, to me, a town lean (as the kids say these days).
Now, maybe all that was incidental. Maybe Rico just wanted a bit of fun and means well. That being said, multiple people have expressed concerns with the gimmick for multiple reasons. I personally don't care if he sings whatever he wants to sing all game, all I want to see is some form of actual baddie hunting. What gets me is that I (and several others) asked for this, and were rebuffed. (which is a word I don't have to look up, Epi)
IMO, if Rico was serious about looking for mafia it would be worthwhile to break character or incorporate those answers into the gimmick. Yoink.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 2}
Does anybody honestly believe Ricochet is "hiding" behind his gimmick?
Every time someone suggests that, I roll my eyes.
I think he's doing what the hell he wants to do. It says nothing of his alignment to me. If you're lynching him because he's not playing the way you want him to, fine, but be honest about it. Don't act like he's bad because you don't like what he's doing.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 2}
Epignosis. You have pretty much only focused on Dyslexicon as a suspicion. How does Dizzy's imminent replacement affect your opinion, and who else do you think is bad?

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 2}
You're acting like Ricochet is failing to provide commentary in his posts. Commentary is there. I have agreed with some of the things he has said. So, to answer your question, he would have to do or say something I find suspicious. That hasn't occurred.speedchuck wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2017 11:44 pmAssuming Rico keeps this thing up: What could he do that would make you scumread him?Epignosis wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2017 10:35 pm Does anybody honestly believe Ricochet is "hiding" behind his gimmick?

I'm not laying low. I've had other stuff to do, like finish a book for speedchuck and have nijuukyugou over and fix a friggin $10,000 air conditioning. It isn't like anything compelling is going on in here anyway.
Your question to me implies that someone's role changes when he or she gets replaced. It doesn't. Because it doesn't, my opinion of Dyslexicon (or anyone) won't change because of a pending replacement.
I don't think you think I'm bad. You're nibbling. You're not making any real effort of pursuit. You're not voting for me today. You're not trying to get other people to vote for me today. Your treatment of me reminds me of Mass Effect when a) you weren't a civilian, and b) you nibbled ("You got nervous"). You are manufacturing little things to come at me with. Civilians have no reason to do this. Mafia do. This time, I'm laying low.
Okay, let's say I am. I'm laying low.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 2}
Stop trying to control the conversation. I addressed you because I looked at your ISO and found it lacking in player opinions. And now, instead of giving some player opinions like I asked, you're trying to steer the conversation away from that. I'm not interested in discussing times in the past when you might have laid low. You're doing it now, that's the concern.
Looks like Rico is going to be lynched. You think he's Civ? 'Cause your efforts to save him have been pretty lacklustre - who should we lynch instead? Dyslexicon? Long Con?

I'm sorry- where did you ask me to give "some player opinions" until just now?
The irony is that you said this, which I gather is a criticism:
The criticism here is that I've "pretty much only focused on Dyslexicon as a suspicion."
Then you asked me a question about Dyslexicon.

Now your complaint is that, in addition to accusing Dyslexicon, all I'm doing is defending Ricochet (I'm not, but that's how you're choosing to frame it). Then guess what?
Then you ask me a question about Ricochet.

And I'm not laying low. I addressed this. I have had other shit to do. If you can't fathom that, oh well. speedchuck can tell you I've been busy writing and editing. nijuukyugou can tell you she was visiting us Thursday evening and Friday morning and that, when I have company, I don't sit on my computer playing Mafia. Elohcin can tell you the A/C downstairs crapped out and my dad and I were in the attic working on the damn thing; we were unsuccessful last night, but for some reason it's working this morning like nothing ever happened.
So no, not laying low, Mr. Manipulator.
Maybe this post is accusing Dyslexicon and defending Ricochet.

Thanks for bringing up Mass Effect. It's cute the way you want to try and angle what happened there, but let me clarify... in Mass Effect: a) I was genuinely hunting baddies, and b) you were a baddie.Epignosis wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2017 8:22 amI don't think you think I'm bad. Let's compare.
Mass Effect Epignosis:
Blue Velvet Epignosis:
Obvious parallels. Attempt to discredit your accuser as a method of avoiding suspicion. This is a proven Epignosis baddie tactic. How else can you discredit your accusers? Maybe rolling your eyes at them?
Mass Effect Epignosis:
Blue Velvet Epignosis:
Just like in Mass Effect, you are getting nervous because I am questioning you. You try to hide it behind condescending bluster and bravado, but your tells give you away ("

You are bad, you're phoning it in, and you got caught. I understand that's not something you're wired to accept, but it's happening. I couldn't close the deal in Mass Effect, and you ended up winning as a baddie just like I was screaming you would the whole time. I don't have a lot of faith that the other players will see it this time, because you're historically really good at the manipulative talk to avoid your own lynch. But I saw through it then, and I see through it now.
You need a new shtick. Vote Epignosis

Such an interesting case made by LC. will the "
" meta replace the adverbs meta?

...and this is actually off-topic, but I noticed it at the end of Mass Effect, and I also want to know the answer:

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 2}
Here's a question for you all: I have time to either be productive around the house or re-read the game thread and post thoughts on everyone. Doing the latter may take me all but right up to the lynch deadline. If I shirk domestic productivity, what are the odds that I'm just accused of being a try-hard now that I have votes? Because if my efforts have a high probability of being dismissed and I get lynched anyway, I'll just be productive and let you lynch me.
Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 2}
That's very compelling evidence against me.Long Con wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2017 11:42 amThanks for bringing up Mass Effect. You're nibbling. You're not making any real effort of pursuit. You're not voting for me today. You're not trying to get other people to vote for me today. Your treatment of me reminds me of Mass Effect when a) you weren't a civilian, and b) you nibbled ("You got nervous").
Let's compare.
Mass Effect Epignosis:Blue Velvet Epignosis:Obvious parallels. Attempt to discredit your accuser as a method of avoiding suspicion. This is a proven Epignosis baddie tactic. How else can you discredit your accusers? Maybe rolling your eyes at them?
Mass Effect Epignosis:Blue Velvet Epignosis:Just like in Mass Effect, you are getting nervous because I am questioning you. You try to hide it behind condescending bluster and bravado, but your tells give you away ("![]()
![]()
"), and your meta seals the point.
Except I was not bad in Mass Effect. I was a neutral independent at the time you said I was nervous. I was never nervous, and I certainly wasn't nervous because of you. I was the one holding the cards Day 2. I used my fake claim brilliantly to draw accusations from someone who tried to kill me and assumed I was the bulletproof guy on the other team. It worked. I regard my Day 2 Mass Effect play to be one of the best things I ever accomplished. I was not nervous then, and I'm not nervous now. You are making things up.
I'm not bad here either.
Nor am I phoning it in. I am participating as I am able. Again, you're making shit up about me because you have nothing on me. Just like you did in Mass Effect.

To prove how delusional you are, and that you believe bullshit, let's examine an easily verifiable claim you just made.
Huh. I don't see the name "Epignosis" there in the host's recap among the winners.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2017 4:31 pm Since the latter portion of this game was lost in the madness, the winners were Cerberus-aligned:

I was gonna post thoughts on everyone but said fuck it and buckled down on the here and now. Might be wise for you to do the same.G-Man wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2017 12:53 pm Here's a question for you all: I have time to either be productive around the house or re-read the game thread and post thoughts on everyone.
