hi everyone! wanted to see if there's any interest in hosting a little score prediction competition for the upcoming world cup with some very nice prizes!

Every week, we'll have the games posted and people are to guess the winner of the game and the final score in that game before the game starts. predictions can be changed at any time BEFORE the game starts. once the whistle blows, no changing.

for correct winner, you get 1 point.
for correct winner and a correct sore margin (for example, you guess 1-2 but it's 2-3, or you guess 1-1 and it's 2-2), you get 2 points.
for correct winner and exact score, you get 3 points.

let me know if you're interested and I'll set this up. Ideally anywhere from 6 people playing would be cool and I'll run it if I have at least 6 (so 5 more since I'm definitely playing).

I'll personally send prizes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and everyone gets a banner for participation!

My best friend from Australia wants to play too, so I may have him sign up for this!

Who advances from every group - 3 points extra for every correct answer

Quarter Finalists - 5 points extra for every correct answer

Semi Finalists - 5 points extra for every correct answer

Finalists - 10 points extra for every correct answer

Winner - 15 points extra for correct answer

I'll set the threads and first categories up on Thursday 7 June. Anyone can join up until the first game day which would be the following Thursday, 14 June.

That's actually semi-ok. You can predict the scores for the games before you leave. It'll be the assigned group stages till late June then there's a small pause before the next stage. (if you fancy)

OK, it's one thing to talk about the Golden Boot or the Golden Glove but I draw the line at Golden Ball.

My quick assessment of the pools

Pool A - boring and dull and entirely meaningless.
Pool B - ripe for a choke
Pool C - lol bye Australia. Hope Peru is the team to drive the nail into them.
Pool D - Where Iceland beat Argentina
Pool E - I hope you don't support Costa Rica or Serbia
Pool F - Remember when South Korea came fourth? Not this time.
Pool G - Intriguing; Tunisia over England 1-0.
Pool H - I always follow Senegal and this time will be no exception. There are actually some exceptions when they don't qualify, but they did.

F, G and H look to be the pools I'm most likely to watch games from, followed by Pool C.
