Out of sheer curiosity, I looked up the top 32 teams per the FIFA rankings.

That's 20 from UEFA (Europe), 7 from CONMEBOL (South America), 3 from CONCACAF (North America), and 2 from CAF (Africa). That means the World Cup is being very charitable by allowing five AFC (Asia) nations to play. Even allotting five spots to CAF is generous. It wouldn't be as much of a World Cup without those guaranteed spots but I have to wonder about the quality of the 48-team structure proposed for 2026.

Mexico is not going to win it all, they've already reached their pinnacle.

Not sure why people didn't enjoy Portugal, Morocco - is it a sort of 'non-neutral observer' phenomenon? I thought Morocco played well and enjoyed watching them, never mind that Portugal wasn't great. That guy on the wing (Amrabat), he was good watching.

Have you seen the way they play? My dad says it's how Brazil used to.

African teams tend to have a pretty wild playstyle that suffers from not being organized. This one is fast and bold, but also well trained and organized. Not sure if it's enough to win but expect those guys to go far.

Poland was pretty great in their game and they were destroyed.
