Then there was your general dismissiveness to my attempts to engage you afterwards. It seemed like you were, again, actively conspiring not to talk about reads. That’s something I consider to be bad. I could see you as a baddie trying to take advantage of the thread’s general lack of activity by throwing shade on a player or players who are trying to kickstart actual gameplay. I can see you doing that again in your response to my vote. You don’t seem to object to the vote itself, or at all concerned with my mindset when I made it. You’re just picking at the semantics of my post. I don’t think that’s what’s important about my post. If we’re going to talk about it, we should talk about why my “making things happen” statement is indicative of chocolate.

Yesterday after school, I began to get out my ingredients and make 4 batches of delicious meringue buttercream. Then I realized I forgot to buy the sugar. A baker forgot to buy the sugar. This is how my week's been.

RIP Eloh! I had no service at the game so wasnt really able to check in.
I didnt really get where the eloh votes were coming from exactly. It's weird going from such a huge game to such a small game only 3 votes can get someone lynched. I'll have to look more closely at the eloh voters. What was it that led people to vote her? Looks like slooneis reasoning was mostly because he had votes and had to make sure someone else got lynched.

Anyone else have thoughts on the sloonei vs epi debate? Its so early in the game. I was initially inclined to think epi was bad and I remember last game sloonei just throws random accusations around to get some kind of discussion going or reaction from people. Voting to save yourself without a lot of reasoning though is meh especially when they flip civ. Was that an honest mistake or intentionally disguised as a mistake?

Is that just how reywas always interacts? Did I miss something?

LOL, I was busting his balls after all the over-analyzing he did at the beginning of A World Asunder. I was fishing for a reaction out of Sloonei but you gave me something even better to analyze.

So, would baddie nutella:

A) try to capitalize on the first person to throw shade for flimsy reasons in an attempt to start an early mislynch train?

B) attempt to buddy an oftentimes supertown Sloonei to get in his good graces while also setting him up to look bad if she were to flip mafia based on her swift rush to defend him?

C) both A and B?


Would civvie nutella:

A) be prone to such a swift overreaction to a fishing attempt (that didn’t even result in a vote) based on her background in linguistics?

B) have a cooler, more level-headed approach to Day 1?
Do you think I'm overreacting? I spotted what I determined to be a fake opinion and called it out. Turns out it was intentionally fake. So I wasn't entirely wrong, but I do tend to trust my first instincts and respond accordingly, then allow room to reevaluate.


And no, I'm not bad nor trying to buddy sloonei. I think he has made a decent entrance but I am not giving him any kind of pass.

Looking through the ISO list in alphabetical order. I see literally nothing in Epi’s ISO that makes me want to vote for him Day 2. I am liable to getting snookered by him though, so I’ll make this game a case study in reading him.

Little to read in Jay’s ISO. I’d like him to explain his switch from “sprityo is bad” to “sprityo is good.”

I called out his low-quality post that served as his justification for an Eloh vote before the deadline and it still reads like sloppy work. I see no reason to trust him yet.

Epignosis is definitely not the type to play a soft or passive scum game. He's a very crafty baddie. He'd stick to his guns.
for whatever that's worth. I'm not saying you need to read him as scum, just that I wouldn't plant a town read on him specifically for that reason.

Some of these are fair questions that I don't object to. This also is not a comprehensive list, as I left out some posts that were just continuations of conversations started in other posts on the list. The point I am trying to make, which I've been trying to make for a little while now, is that Epi's general tone in this game is antagonistic. I don't view him as being constructive with his questions or his input. I think this type of content serves to inflame the thread and keep the civilians from forming a cohesive and productive atmosphere. I think Epi is doing this intentionally. I think that's how he would play in a game like this when he's bad. I don't think it's how he would play in a game like this when he'd good. By "a game like this", I mean one that is relatively quiet, lacking on content or power roles, in which the town's success will depend on its ability to work together and eliminate the small team of baddies using nothing but in-thread evidence. By keeping the thread unstable, he makes it that much more difficult for us to do those things.

Lots of culture clash and a sprinkling of excuses through the first half of MafiaMenace’s ISO. Then he gets hung up on the semantics of trustworthiness. His big-dog attitude reminds me of the aggressive nature that others came to this site with when wandering into our bohemian culture from site’s more akin to players strutting around like young bucks. The more he produces game-relevant content, the better I’ll get a feel for him. For now though his ISO leaves him as a tough egg to crack.

Lynching Nutella tomorrow is still on the table for me. Her ISO paints a better picture than some of her individual posts. I’ll let that soak for the rest of the day and see what else happens. Here’s what sits ill with me:

-She overreacted to my literal/not-a-good-look post at Sloonei in a big way. Had she claimed her vote on me was a form of reaction fishing, I might have believed her. Rather, she seemed to go all in, as if she sensed opportunity.

-Asking for the stats on sprityo being bad based on self-voting is also opportunistic. It provides and easy way in or out of working a sprityo train into the mix. It’s not original thought. That kind of data is arbitrary anyway. Nothing ever came of it but it still smells of opportunism.

-After Jay voted for Eloh, Nutella echoed his poor reasonings, thereby generating what appears to be justification for a later Eloh vote.

-Sure enough, Nutella goes back to the low-hanging fruit and votes for Eloh. A sloppy vote built on a foundation of sand.

-She even says she is often wrong about Eloh, preemptively excusing her role in a mislynch.

Look, I get why some may be skeptical of reywaS. What he’s doing is weird and cumbersome to understand at times, which makes it borderline unhelpful in a game this small.

The thing is, though, that I lived this. One of my first games here I posted only in pictures. Granted, I had a reason for it, but I did it as a civvie. There’s no reason to do this kind of thing as a baddie, because, once you do, you can never expect to receive the benefit of the doubt ever again.

While inferring meaning from his posts is difficult, I can find it in some. He disliked Jay’s vote for Eloh and threw shade at Nutella for doing the same.

He’s not a strong civvie read, but as long as he can inject meaningful commentary on the game through his gimmick, he’s not an outright liability. I realize that “I did this sort of thing once and he seems to agree with me on a few player reads” sounds like weaksauce justification for even a low-degree civvie read, but that’s my reality.
