This contest will have you hearing double. For each category, you will submit not one piece, but two, which will be assessed together.

Let's see about getting these in by the end of the month Mar 13.


The Undercover Man
Provide an original piece and follow it up with a cover of the same tune by a different performer.


Go Your Own Way
After providing a number from a band, offer a cut from a member of that band who started a solo effort.


Who Are You?
But for knowing better, these two works could be by the same artist(s), but they aren’t. Bands may not share any members.


Seamless
The first track will flow seamlessly into the second. These must be listed as separate, consecutive tracks in the liner notes.


Same Name
Find two tracks with the exact same name that are different compositions by different artists.


Yin Yang
Pair two works that are polar opposites of each other and yet complimentary. The nature by which these two are opposites is open to interpretation.


Love-Hate Relationship
Give me something you love that you think I will hate, and give me something you hate that you think I will love.


Now and Then
This submission should feature one track from the debut album of an artist or band and one track from the latest album from the same act.

This might be one of the broadest, most revealing glimpses into my musical tastes. It was hard to pick the right tunes, but it was also some of the most fun I've had yet picking out tunes to submit.

That's the category I'm struggling the most with. I've got a few options, but none of them are spicy. I know there's something better out there than what I've got currently.

Does this need to be a solo act? Or can it be any secondary act started by an artist who first established themself as a member of a larger band? e.g. The Beatles -> Paul McCartney & Wings

Use your judgment. I'm not out to be strict on this one. But for the name "Wings," it would be a Paul McCartney solo gig (my personal opinion, of course).
