Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
Our goal is to continue to improve the experience of our members as you all play here at The Syndicate. To that end, we welcome your input on features and improvements you might like to see added to our forums. We can't promise we will do everything suggested, but we will do our best to look into each of them and evaluate how we think they might work within our community. If we think it is achievable and would make the user experience better, then we will try to make it happen! So let us know what you'd like to see added!

A button that bans Alex from signing up.
I'd still like an inline chatbox like RM. Discord does the job though, but it's not perfect.

I think it was you that requested linkback and post numbers, which I have already located. So if all goes well, those will be coming soon.

Honestly, though, I'd trade all of the upgrades in the world for having something similar to the black and red theme come back. Even though this one doesn't draw attention at work.

I don't have Quick reply here either. And I third the post number request. I haven't figured out multi quotes either though someone said we had them.

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
"Who Posted" is not a function, like when you look to see who posted by post count in a game in the Sub Forum view? "Replies" isn't a clickable link as it used to be. So can we add that to the list?
Thanks

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
I was requested to see if we can adjust the board width in the two new styles. I have added a mod that allows the user to set their own width. You can see it at the top next to the Quick links icon. It does not work for the Carbon, but it does work for the negreen-black. I've also got expanded poll functions installed. We will be able to set poll voters as visible, but we still can't see the order in which votes were cast.

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
Daisy, someone asked about a "Jump to first unread post" feature in the Elemental game thread. I looked for that feature but couldn't find it. I don't even know if its something we had on the old board but I thought I would mention it here just in case.
Also, I wonder if it's possible to get someone to code the vote order for us. In the past thats been a pretty significant feature in games where the votes are not changeable.

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
Displaying voter names in polls and ISOs are the two most important missing features to me. I assume you're already working on restoring those (if they aren't back already). And it's only a cosmetic thing, but I miss the old black and red display. That's not something we need to worry about until everything else is back in order though.

Yep both are already fixed. Polls are only lacking the ability to see what order the votes were placed in now.

I don't seem to have the option to change the number of posts per page, which is something I prefer to customize because I don't like really long pages. Can we get that option back?

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
Huh... it is indeed, but the feature doesn't actually work? I just checked, and my posts per page says it is set to 20 which is how I had it before the update, but since the site came back up I've had the default 40. I tried submitting the setting again and it hasn't changed (threads are still loading 40 ppp). Odd.

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
Is the order in which voters appears in polls screwy, by any chance? In a current mafia game, I'm now fairly sure that, in front of a player, I'm seeing a voter who voted second appear ahead of a voter who voted first.

Vote Order is not actually installed yet. I am not sure what the ordering protocol is, but at this time, if you want voting order you have to do it the old fashioned way and glean it from the thread.
It's on the list.

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
What Sherry said. The polls don't currently have an option for having the votes listed in order of when they were placed. I have yet to see a mod for that and suspect it might be something that was custom coded by someone who is not present in our community any longer.

The "carbon" skin is black and gray which is a bit closer in the interim. Definitely easier on my eyes than the white/blue stuff.

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
I hate both the dark styles. I have one that was just released that is a black/blue/ red scheme, but the one I really want, which is a nice black and red one is still in early stage development. The developer seems to be very active though so I am sure it will be done eventually, but it takes time. When I get back from vacation I'm going to tackle seeing if I can get the other one installed and the header graphic in place as well. Thanks for your patience guys, I know it isn't ideal.

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
So it seems Photobucket has switched to suck mode, because I'm seeing a lot of banners replaced with an "temporarily disabled 3rd party hosting" error pic.

The "temporarily" part seems BS, because the p500 link provided sends you to upgrade to a $399 premium plan.
I assume everyone else is seeing this as well? I checked the Hall of Fame and it is a hot mess. Not all Photobucket-hosted images - not even all coming from one account - show up broken, but I'm definitely seeing too many of them in this state.

Well, for the visual inconvenience, one quick temporary solution would be to go in the User Panel, Board Preferences and switch "Display signatures" to no. But long-term, if everyone using PB is getting demands to pay for an upgrade, we may have to consider switching to a new host and reuploading the pics.

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
My Mad Max banners live on a blogger page. I don't know if that's inferior to a photo-hosting website or not.
Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
Photobucket updated their TOS two days ago. If I can't post my images elsewhere, their website becomes utterly without purpose. If I want to look at my images, I have a hard drive for that.
I'll push a child down a flight of stairs before I pay them $400 for this "service."

Re: Features & Improvements Suggestion Box
https://www.ghacks.net/2017/06/30/photo ... ed-images/For users who are affected by this, it is important to note that the images are not gone. They are still hosted on Photobucket, and you can actually load them right then and there by right-clicking on them and selecting "open image in new tab" or "open link in new tab" depending on the web browser that you are using. This opens the Photobucket website where the original image is displayed.
As far as alternatives are concerned, there is Imgur for instance which supports the embedding of images on third-party sites.
While members of Photobucket may wait and hope that the company reverses the stance on third-party hosted images, it is probably better to migrate the photos to another hosting service entirely.
You can download your entire library of images by selecting Library on Photobucket, and there the download album link under actions.

Imgur is trending towards photobucket badness but is faaaaaaaaar better at the moment.
Photobucket is the 8 track of image hosting. Out of style, out of date, technically inferior.

I am aware of the ppp problem. I will notify everyone when I find an answer. I don't know why it's not working. This may be a mix up in the update, I dont not know yet, but I will let everyone know when I have an answer. Additionally, this is a thread for features we do t have that you think would be cool. We now have simple mentions! This means if you use the @ symbol and then begin to type someone's user name a drop down will appear and you click on the name. It will enter the mention tag and will create a notification for the person you are mentioning as illustrated above. Sorry Quin and Jay for using you as guinea pigs.
Will be handy way in game to get someone's attention.Try it out! However, if you don't put the mention at the beginning of your post it won't generate the mention.
Additionally there is now one tag for almost any media you might want to link to. Just use the media tag button that looks like a TV around the url of what you want embedded in your post and it does the work for you.
We also have name suggestions when writing PMs. As you type the name of the member or member group you want to identify as the recipient of your PM a drop down will generate suggesting member names based upon what you have typed.
Finally, I've heard requests for the Who Posted in this topic clickable number, and now we have it!
I think that covers all the extensions I've installed to this point. I'll check in next time I have more to report. In the meantime feel free to let me know about any issues you run into over in the Feedback thread.
