Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 12)
Hello again, players. Despite what this picture may make you think, I have not been lazing away on a romantic, exotic beach instead of following this game. No, I only smell like I've been lazing away on a romantic, exotic beach because I use Old Spice body wash instead of lady-scented body wash. In fact, I have been following this game quite clo-
BEARGLOVE!!!
My apologies, players. As I was saying, I have been following this game quite closely and need to go back and evaluate both Nutella and reywaS so as to make a fully-informed vo-BEARGLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE!
Is that really necessary?
YES IT DOES BECAUSE ONLY BEARGLOVE CAN HELP YOU DO THIS!
Be serious, man. All Old Spice fragrances make you feel and smell like a man but they don't make your arms super-long. That's just a cheeky TV special effect designed to appeal to immature young men who aren't yet confident enough in their masculinity to use traditional and exotic Old Spice fragrances. Why do you have to ruin my fun?
Because I have more important things to do with my time than argue with you. For instance, my to-do list for today includes hand-carving a gazebo out of a single redwood tree, perfecting a French braid, obtaining the rarest cacao beans from the indigenous Tapirapé people of the Amazon rainforest to make a romantic chocolate fondu, and making my mind up between Nutella and reywaS. Don't you have other things to do?BEARGLOVE.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 12)
I'm with Spacedaisy. MM has been coasting on snark this game while avoiding any serious attention. The more I see of his cavalier play, the more convinced I become that he is a bad, bad man. It doesn't look like an MM lynch is in the cards today, but I urge other people to examine him more closely.Spacedaisy wrote:Two other people who I believe we should be discussing right now are MM and Devin.
MM, the Nutella/bwt lynch was clearly going towards Nutella, then he changed his vote to make it a tie. Then he complained about a tie that he created. I think it wasn't really a tie, I think that the lynch was moved to David to ensure Nutella didn't die. But your vote moving from Nutella to David was done to cover that up. If I was to vote anyone other than Nutella, I would vote you.
Devin. Come on man, you are just phoning it in. You have clearly been latching onto everyone else's suspicions for a while now if not all game, and been as blends as can be. I don't trust you.

Okay, I agree with TH that this is some fishy business. Epi's role has been fairly obvious for a while now, so either Rey wasn't paying attention (which I can relate to) or he's up to no good. Not sure which yet. Still reading.reywaS wrote:I'm not sure what to make of these developments. Epig turns the lynch in nutella's direction and people follow with little resistance. Did you guys trust DH to this extent, or did Epi all on his own convince you he's trustworthy? Not that I necessarily think Epi is bad...just seems weird.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 12)
Why should it matter if your suspects are voting for Rey?? If the going theory is right, and Rey is an unrecruited RM, everyone needs him dead, including your suspects..... so why should you be so averse to voting with them in this instance? Is this just a contrarians vote? Or are you doing some distancing here, now that a Rey bandwagon is going??aapje wrote:I'm fine with either a nutella or a rey lynch. ......and now that I read further down the thread, I see that the Nutella bandwagon is back on the rails..... not sure what to make of this, honestly.
I actually agree with Rey that he's not really the biggest threat right now. Baddies are, because as far as we know both teams are very near full strength (we've only killed 1 baddie for certain, right? Though there must've been at least a few in the bloodbaths during the nights, I imagine). Rey can actually help us with that numbers issue.....BUT I don't know if I trust him, like, at all..... and I'm also not as convinced as some of you seem to be about Nutella. If she's a sure-bet baddie, then that is the smart vote, I think..... but if there's a chance that Epi/Daisy are wrong about her, then I actually feel more comfortable going with Rey.

Actually, re-looking at the roles, RM doesn't need to be dead for either civ teams or baddies to win...... so I was wrong about that...... but I do think he's a threat, especially since he claims to not be paying attention and is therefore just as likely to kill civs as baddies.

Right.. If there was a way to get Rey to just kill the baddies sure, cool, let's keep him.
How are we all going to agree on who he should target?
And ubzargan or azura will kill him first chance they get anyway right?
If we can pick someone who's likely a baddie for him to target tonight then ok, I'll switch my vote to Nutella.
I just can't think of a way this would work long term...

I think I agree with you, Sorsha. There's just no way to hold him to his word, and I'm not at all convinced that the possible benefits of keeping him around outweigh the substantial risks. I am concerned about using a lynch on a non-team baddie (since there are SO MANY lynch switches and manipulations going on in this game that it feels like our main civ tool is pretty corrupt and unreliable), but I think Rey is sure thing, and Nutella is not. I'm happy with keeping my vote on ReySorsha wrote:Right.. If there was a way to get Rey to just kill the baddies sure, cool, let's keep him.

JJJ - 90% sure not a baddie.
Ricochet - As above.
Llama - Uncertain, could go either way. No longer dead anyway.
Tranq - Maybe he was bad? I lean more bad than good tbh.
In my opinion he has at best a 50% success rate. Which is better than the success rate of our lynches sure, but still not good. I don't see why we'd trust him anyway. He will kill people that are a threat to him. Nobody is playing to let other teams win.

Also if I missed any mercenary kills let me know, those are the only four listed on the front page.

That was actually my post, and that's not actually the point I was trying to make.Devin the Omniscient wrote:I'm not blind to this possibility. Good try at being involved, though!

Thank you! But to be fair, I didn't see your post until after I made this one.Canucklehead wrote:That was actually my post, and that's not actually the point I was trying to make.Devin the Omniscient wrote:I'm not blind to this possibility. This is the specific post I was piggy-backing.Sorsha wrote:Right..

I think making a deal with the devil is just asking for trouble. Good luck trying to control a guy who doesn't pay attention, doesn't care who he kills, has completed his Epic Challenge, and needs everyone dead.

I'm pretty sure Sorsha was being sarcastic in that post? So what were you "piggy-backing" on?

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 12)
this is slightly inaccurate. I said that I AM paying attention now. The past is the past. I can't go back in time. The game is at a more manageable place, and I promise to not fall behind again.Canucklehead wrote:Actually, re-looking at the roles, RM doesn't need to be dead for either civ teams or baddies to win...... so I was wrong about that...... but I do think he's a threat, especially since he claims to not be paying attention and is therefore just as likely to kill civs as baddies.

I read it as speculation instead of sarcasm. So I am speculating, too. I just seem to be more willing to take risks.Canucklehead wrote:I'm pretty sure Sorsha was being sarcastic in that post? So what were you "piggy-backing" on?
Who's to say that EC accomplishment didn't give him a new win con? So much conjecture in this post.Turnip Head wrote:I think making a deal with the devil is just asking for trouble. Good luck trying to control a guy who doesn't pay attention, doesn't care who he kills, has completed his Epic Challenge, and needs everyone dead.
Have you read the role that you claim I am?

Fair enough, TH I doubt I will win this game, so I'm comfortable taking a few risks.
