There's no reason for her to subtract from the Luna lynch, either as town or as scum. If scum, let Luna be lynched. If town, why would she be tricky about the vote?

Sloonei's only bad look is that he pretty much guaranteed a scum loss at MYLO by using his extra vote. Only crazy 3p weirdness kept the game going. Maybe the reason scum didn't have a good plan or that DDL didn't switch is that they thought they had it in the bag. That's a single bad look, but it's a big one.

One the other hand, with a possible redirected kill from targeting nutella, it would make sense if Sabie had her plans ruined by a deflection to Lunalee. The only reason she had a response ready is because of how hard that unexpected kill hit her. Making an assumption here, but it's a possibility.

I just read over the Macdougall case on Nutella. It's a pretty good run-down. Not perfect, but pretty good. I have half a mind to take Mac's suspicions and coast on them all game, like I did in GoC. Nightkill analysis, baby.

Problem is, this analysis came in on D3, and I had nutella as a semi-strong townread. Let's talk about some of the suspicions.

This is the second fucking stupid lynch in a row of a cool player who I would have liked to play with just because people are being fucking lazy

I don't really have a beef with this post. It's not so much "Enrique was obviously town, boo to the voters, they all scum, I'm so town dontcha kno" and more genuine to me BECAUSE it isn't lamenting his role or alignment as much as the fact that he was around and interesting.
And she's not even wrong about the laziness. We on page 11, and this is D3. That's insane.

Nutella also doesn't have a reason to put herself out there and agitate the thread/voters with this if she's scum. In a more active game, this kind of talk could shame people and put nutella on a town pedestal. In this game, it just makes her stand out. I posit that, with the flow of the game as is, spurring on this discussion and kicking that hornets' nest is much less scummish than just taking the lynches as they come.

A bit relieved that Enrique flipped town. That makes me look good.

Hypocrisy is a staple of the town playbook.

At first glance, these are the only counterarguments I have toward the town nutella that I'm seeing. It comes down to motive, like Mac's post does. He alleged that Nutella is trying to put herself in a good position using TMI. I think it was a mix of nutella being aggressive and waffley. While waffles are not really a town play, regardless of the person, aggression is just not called for at all in this game.

I didn't address all of Mac's points, though. And Nutella believing the truth meta thing is ew, regardless of alignment.

Nutella's got some heat on her at this time. speedchuck decides to investigate independently and he comes out with more positive things to say than negative. In a lazy thread like this one, he could have easily lumped suspicion on her here.

I'm trying to approach speedchuck from a totally neutral perspective right now. This is a point in his favor.

I've come back to this post a few times. He suggests DDL as the primary lynch candidate on Day 4 when I asked a question to no one in particular. He doesn't need to put his teammate in the line of fire right here, but if he's bad maybe that's the point.

Skeptical of the DDL bandwagon (on Day 4, not Day 5). I don't blame him, but it's something worth looking at. This seems more like a complaint about the activity level in the thread rather than the specific lynch target. If he's intent on saving DDL, he should be pushing another case. I don't see him doing that anywhere. He does eventually vote for reywas, though.


On Day 5 he does a series of ISOs. This was when I started to read him as town and he hasn't lost that spot since. The thread was pretty inactive for a while, and speedchuck breathed some life into it with some very thorough ISO work, looking at me, then nutella, then DDL. His vote ended up on DDL. Hooray. I think all of these ISOs look like they're coming from an honest and open mind intent on solving the game. Big point in his favor. Another big point for voting DDL during MYLO. He had enough fuel to mislynch just about anybody on this day and win the game if he's scum. That didn't happen.

My only slight concern remains his behavior today. But ultimately the only case I can make is that he's done a bunch of things purely for WIFOM purposes. There's no substantial case I can make against speedchuck. In situations like this my philosophy is that if he's bad, he deserves to win.

I'll take another look at sabie as well. I believe nutella's indie claim.

Dana and Nova haven't shown up at all yet as far as I saw. Are there plans for replacement if they don't?

Yeah Bob does seem a little all over the place I'll have to look more into that. Not sure if that's where drwilgys suspicion comes from? from what I can tell all drwilgy did was vote with no explanation and then go away with no explanation. I'm always wary of the random no explanation votes even if just a minimal one.

Also someone asked what valid points there were against sloonei and the genuine comment could be taken as an unnecessary statement but I'm not putting my suspicion on them right now. I see their posting as more stirring things up and getting people talking.

Trying to keep up the best I can with everything lots of people playing this game so much to read. Also I dont own a computer so phone typing is obnoxious sometimes blah.

Leaning drwilgy at this time due to random voting no explanation not even mentioning it and then completely disappearing. Off to a Christmas party. I will check back in after though in case anything else comes up.

Dana just recently started and mostly discussed game mechanic questions but theres so much to read I can see why if she wasn't here initially.

I can see the case on juliet's as it's a lot of just agreeing or responding to things rather than new ideas. I know I've played with her before but honestly dont remember when or what games.

Sig I can see how their behavior at end of day could be deemed kind of suspicious it was a little all over the place which could have been to make the wolbre vote look more random than it really was.

Quin eh he was bad last game and acted similarly but I get the feeling that's just him and him pushing people away could be a way to hide teammates or just some inside joke I'm not aware of with other players.

Colin I'm not sure about because he said I'm gonna bandwagon vote DDL without any real reason and then doesn't contribute anything else really. I did notice the few posts that were quotes with just lmao or like or something similar.


Sloonei talks a lot and changes his mind a lot but he does get conversations going and people talking. I'm not entirely sure how to feel about it as he got really defensive when the votes were on him. It's hard to read all of his posts but I know hes changed who he's suspecting many times. Which isn't to say he hasn't made some good points.

There was some stuff about gman but I have no idea I couldnt get much from his posts.

I'll have to look at mac and timmer as well as they were also wolbre voters.

I dont feel like there is much to go on for elo votes she barely said anything or is that really the argument against her is that she didnt say anything?
Spirit is like super angry for some reason and was a little confusing at times. Is it common to vote non/host as a placeholder? I've seen self voting for that purpose before idk.
Epi focused a lot on that literal argument which seems like it really doesnt have anything to do with the game. Could be a distraction away from any discussion or accusation in his direction.
Others like sloonei and gman seem to be trying to throw things out there to get a discussion going. Though gman made sure to begin the game by stating he is the most vanilla of civs

Reywas is literally all memes and not much actual posting of anything so that doesnt look great. It's like participating without really saying anything? Unless there is some weird inside joke about kanye that I'm not aware of to explain this?

So early in the game hard to decide where to go. I am going to a hockey game tonight so I may not be around a lot for end of day discussion but I'll try to check in if I can. I'm inclined to vote epi or reways at the moment. I'm thinking reways because at least epi is talking even if it was a lot of random things about the language people use. Sorry for the hugely long post just trying to fit all my thoughts into one.

I didnt really get where the eloh votes were coming from exactly. It's weird going from such a huge game to such a small game only 3 votes can get someone lynched. I'll have to look more closely at the eloh voters. What was it that led people to vote her? Looks like slooneis reasoning was mostly because he had votes and had to make sure someone else got lynched.

Anyone else have thoughts on the sloonei vs epi debate? Its so early in the game. I was initially inclined to think epi was bad and I remember last game sloonei just throws random accusations around to get some kind of discussion going or reaction from people. Voting to save yourself without a lot of reasoning though is meh especially when they flip civ. Was that an honest mistake or intentionally disguised as a mistake?

Is that just how reywas always interacts? Did I miss something?

There's a bit of game summary in all of these posts, but they're also full of stances, reads, or thoughtful questions about players and their behavior. Sabie's thoughts are coming out effortlessly and naturally.

Compare this with some of her posts from this game:

Oh this is so hard when there really isnt much to go off of yet. I completed my award presentation at least. And as someone who hasnt posted much it's mostly just due to being at work and when I had looked before there wasnt a whole of conversations going. Nova is actually kind of participating this game but has a track record for barely doing anything and then either getting replaced or killed off and he ended up being a civ. This post has lots of stances, but what's missing is the questions. There's not a single question mark after her initial jab at G-man. This lack of questioning is contrasted against her final line: "I'm really at a loss this game." In her previous civilian efforts, questions have poured out of sabie as a natural byproduct of her participation in the game. A look at this post, and her ISO in general, reveals almost no investigative questions. Most of the question marks I see in her posts are attached to playful jabs at folks. Sabie's a pleasant person, but I'm pretty sure she has an anti-town role card in this game.

Linki, what lie? I thought that was a crack about info dumping. And INH is a force of nature. An unusual nature, but you can't really take him at face value. He does and says his own thing always, and I won't auto-susp him for saying something quirky and provocative.

I have played with both of them for a long time, I might not read them the same as you do.

I do feel bad about being wrong about wilgy and that I let myself be convinced he was bad if he wasn't. I guess him being so nonchalant and absent most of the game made the whole thing a little more meh for everyone. As people were saying the end if day was not as lively and exciting as it can sometimes be. Usually the people being accused at least come in and defend themselves and a conversation happens. That didnt really happen this time. No one else really has had a strong reaction to his death either that I saw unless I missed it. But again I'm sorry I was wrong. Both lynches have not gone great for us so hoping for better results next time.
It seemed like everyone was pretty quick to move on to the next thing. Especially with INH coming in with a bunch of posts out of nowhere.

Actually I've never played on another site I was on this site playing from 2014 to 2016 so all this info dumping stuff is completely new to me I dont remember that being a thing before. I've explained a few times that I was here then had a brain tumor and was out of the game for awhile and came back recently. I dont know how any of that led you to the conclusions you're making now.

I saw a few people still accusing me. I wonder is it based on any kind of actual argument or just the crazy lady who people are very much interpreting incorrectly. Also just want to know if that info came from the hosts then how was it able to be shared in the thread as a direct quote? Isn't that not allowed? If people think I'm bad because I voted wilgy I made an argument for why I thought he was bad. I also wasnt the only one who believed he was bad. As a civ you go off what you think is baddie behavior but you dont know for sure. It was an honest mistake. Unless there was some trickery going on but again that also is uncertain.

No you misinderstand why I asked that. I asked if they werent supposed to directly quote the message then maybe the message wasnt actually directly quoted. As in it could have been misconstrued. Like paraphrasing things to make it sound different on purpose. If that was the wording though I still see it as meaning there was a baddie next to me. I'm just saying people are very quick to believe their interpretation of what may have been said by a mad old lady on the woods rather than put together any kind of actual argument against me.

She was killed Night 1 in Vanilla Mafia and never faced any suspicion. But looking at her World Asunder responses to suspicion, she takes them all in stride, responds to her accusers in conversation, addresses their points, and asks her own follow-up questions on occasion. Compare that to here:

Glad we got another one! And nah my thing was I thought Lunas behavior was more sketchy than svs but I was willing to vote svs. I still don't see a reason those two couldn't have been teammates. I still don't see why people suspect me other than the mafia team or potentially one member left needs someone for the civs to mislynch. Since I've been blah this game I'm an easy target for that.

That I was bad at finding the baddies this game? I wasn't the only one. I'm pretty sure who ever the remaining baddie is killed off Luna to make me look bad since I was suspecting her. I pretty much figured that was going to be their move. I mean if I was the remaining baddie why would I openly kill off the person I was suspicious of? Wouldn't you kill someone else off and then lead a lynch on the person you've been suspecting? Or maybe I'm wrong. Either way good job at making me look bad baddies. I was super hoping to finally have a civ win for once.

In this game she's repeatedly said that she doesn't understand the case against her and has not directly addressed any of the points which have been made against her. It's a stark contrast to the civilian sabie from A World Asunder who was eager to respond directly to any criticisms people threw her way.

I can't really read sabie as town, and I can't read speedchuck as scum. I have no reason not to believe nutella's claim, especially given that it's the only available explanation as to why I didn't botch the game on Day 5. My Sabie vote is pretty much locked in at this point. Sorry if I'm wrong, sabie. But I can't really see it any other way right now.

Sometimes, it could be something profound, sometimes it may be revealing some pertinent information that changes the direction of the whole game and sometimes it's an act of desperation that turns into a catch phrase. This particular quote loosely channels one of my favorite movies, The Predator, in basically saying ya know what? You want to kill me?

Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the 2024 Socky Awards! It's been another great year of murder and mayhem here at the Syndicate. Hearts were broken then mended; innocent civilians, hanged like scoundrels. But, as always, the real mafia was the friends we made along the way. And now the time has come to recognize the many fine folks who have kept our community running strong this year.

So, without further ado, our first award of the night will be Best Theme! Which game's theme brought the most pizzazz to the Syndicate in 2024? In truth, every game deserves this award as all our hosts are full of creativity and ingenuity. But you all voted, and a select few games stood out.

You are a 2-shot Cop aligned with the civilians. Twice during the game during any separate night phases, you may select a player. You will be told whether or not that player is aligned with a/the mafia team.

colonialbob:

You are self-aligned. To win the game you must be the last player standing, or have reduced the living numbers to a 1-1 tie with the civilian faction. If you find yourself in a 1-1 tie with any other faction, victory or defeat will be determined based upon the circumstances and active role abilities.

You are a 2-shot Poisoner. Twice during the game during any separate night phases, you may select a player. That player will be poisoned. That player will be informed by the host that he/she has been poisoned. At the end of the following day phase, the player will die.

Additionally, you are a 2-shot Role Thief. Twice during the game during any separate night phases, you may select a player. If that player has any shots of any ability remaining, you will take one shot from them. You will be informed of a successful theft and able to use the new ability during any ensuing phase.

speedchuck:

You are a 2-shot Janitor aligned with a/the mafia. Twice during the game during any separate night phases, you may elect to deliver the night kill and hide the identity of the dying player. It will not be revealed.

nutella:

You are self-aligned. To win the game, you must be alive when any other faction has attained its win condition and the game ends.

You are a Nexus. Any role ability targeting you during a night phase will automatically be redirected to any other player selected at random. This may only prevent one night kill, however. A second night kill will pierce your nexus protection and you will die.

You are also blind. Each vote you place during all day phases has a 50% chance of missing the target and randomly hitting another player within one poll position (alphabetically) of your intended choice. This will never result in a vote for yourself.

Be aware that one role in the game may pierce your nexus protection apart from the second night kill.
