Needs more cow bell.thellama73 wrote:A message from Aesop and Son:
There was once a dairy farmer name John who was well-known for making the most delectable butters and cheeses for villages abound. Unlike most farms in the area, or the world, for that matter, his cows were treated to the choicest of grasses and daily massages, which resulted in a creamier milk for processing, which resulted in customers begging for his wares at astounding rates.
Despite his success, John was still paying off a large debt to his landlord, Sir Neville Anderson, whose family had indentured John’s for generations. John would not be relieved of said debt for some years to come; still, he remained optimistic that his skill in dairy would make him a free man someday, and continued to work hard at his craft. Sir Neville was particularly fond of the gorgonzola that John produced, and if John made enough of it to satisfy his lord, a portion of his debt was slashed from the monthly payment.
Now, John had a wife he loved dearly, but often asked a lot him despite his workload and debt. One Monday, she inquired, in her most irresistible voice, all the while batting her eyelashes, if he could make 20 pounds of butter for an engagement party she was throwing at week’s end. John, not wanting to disappoint his wife, immediately agreed to the deal. He quite forgot, however, that the end of the month was drawing near, when Sir Neville would be asking for his payment and supply of gorgonzola.
John was undeterred in his task. By day, he processed milk into butter, averaging about three pounds a day if he skipped lunch breaks. By night, he checked and maintained his aging gorgonzola, and prepared the supply for packaging and transportation to his lord’s house, for Sir Neville desired an extra-large portion this month. He slept rarely and ate more rarely still, growing paler and skinnier throughout the week, yet continued working hard nonetheless. On Friday, John’s wife dropped by the processing room to check on his work; by then, John had managed to produce 15 pounds of butter, but this was certainly not enough for the large party she had planned, and she grew upset. “You promised you’d be able to do this!” she cried, throwing her hands in the air. “I’ve given you plenty of time. What on earth have you been doing all week?” Then, she burst into tears. “You must care more about that wretched lord’s cheese than me and my needs.”
John looked at his wife with tired eyes. “I’m living for giving Sir Neville his bleu,” he replied, then smiled and hugged her despite his exhaustion. “But I’m churnin’, I'm churnin’, I'm churnin’ for you!”

I'm fine lynching him again, but I am prioritizing Boris and Natasha.

And see, I thought his response to Eloh was snippy and dismissive. That's something I don't associate with a civilian Scotty.S~V~S wrote:It is hard to explain; he just *feels* jabbier to me when he's bad, not unlike how I view LC when he's bad; he makes little one liner pokes at people for reasons I don't fathom. Which isn't to say *I* have to fathom everyone elses thoughts. But in LOST Again I read Scottys posts with my forehead scrinched up and one eyebrow almost in my hairline. In LOST Again, I could pretty much pull him out of a hat after a few posts. I am not seeing it as much here. He danced around it a bit more, IMO. Here he is pretty much sticking to his guns. He looks totally different to me than he looked in that game, and more like he does in the games I have seen him mislynched.Epignosis wrote:Can you elaborate?S~V~S wrote:Of the people with votes, I think Scotty DOES have a baddie game. BUT God knows I could be wrong, though; see the last 2 lynches. My civ game always goes off the rails when I have to defend before I get a chance to settle in to the thread.
@Bea, yeah I kinda agree. But even if Llama were to allow votes for Matt (and in the past he has not cut replacements slack iirc) I would feel better letting him settle in. Replacing into a role taking suspish is not easy.
Which reminds me, I don't know about anyone else, but I thought Suspish-Gate in GOC was hilarious.

And my point is she garnered a strange reaction from you, given the circumstances.Scotty wrote:1. I don't really have a baddie game. "It would be like you to do this kind of kill. The only time I have been Mafia with Elo is in Home Alone, and the only other time was "Lost Again", which she wasn't a part of. So of course I'm going to rebel at her talking like she knows what I would do as Mafia, since she only has one game to draw from. That's my point.
2. I basically just explained this above. I'm responding to all criticism about me as I can. I'm always serious, except when I'm not.
4. I forgot the third
Lemme preach on it.
Elohcin has no credibility in this game despite numerous people saying she's good and going out of their way to save her. Hell, she has two votes. Again.
Yet you seemed to react as though she had already made up her mind. You didn't welcome her scrutiny- you dismissed it. "lol u don't know me" and "this is WIFOM" like. She doesn't know what you would do if bad, that's true- but she does have more insight than most people do.
I'm willing to keep my vote here for now.

OR, is someone trying to frame SVS. *ponder, ponder*
Scotty, this post makes me wonder about you. "More content = more power". I think it would be like you to do this kind of kill and then make a statement about it like that.
I am quite busy atm but when I get a chance, I am going to reread you.
Please reread me and let me know what you'd like me to respond to other than WIFOM. I like to talk, as you know.
As for your SVS theory, are you trying to frame SVS?
"Lol we were on a baddie team together once and now you think you know my baddie game so well?"
A few things awry about this nugget:
First, there are a handful of players who are obvious when they are civilian or mafia. I mean like three or four. Scotty is sophisticated enough not to be one of those. So it baffles me that he (thinks he) has a "baddie game," especially here, where he's (to my knowledge and not counting games he is currently in) only been mafia once.
Second, Elohcin didn't say anything about being on a team with him or knowing how he plays. She didn't make a definitive statement. She didn't say she was going to vote for him. She expressed an observational opinion and then said she would reread him. Why so serious, Scotty? lol indeed.
Third, I forget third.

I'm placing a vote on wilgy for now, I know I was totally off in meta play reading him last game but I'm not feeling great about him atm.
I've been reading a few players and really just have a handful of players who I won't be voting for.
I'm not sure how to read Matt/MP at the moment in light of recent events, so I think I'll let that one rest for a day so I can see what Matt says. Wilgy also makes me feel itchy ("also" in response to the post above), but I think that's always the case in games I've been in with him - he's very avant-garde. However, there hasn't been much explanation from him for his votes, so that's also where the itch comes from (and now that sounds kinda gross).
Dunno about bea. So nice. So unsuspicious every time I play with her. Makes me think
Dunno if any of that was helpful, but those are my thoughts at the moment. Back to my other task. Still here for a bit.

To those of you who have no inclination to vote Elohcin (including Elohcin, if she actually, you know, votes or something this time around), I propose this:
No last minute flippity-floppy nonsense, no uninformed votes, no worrying about having to save Elohcin- I believe it we put our heads together and collectively decide who needs to be lynched rather than who needs to be saved, we can ensure Elohcin doesn't get lynched and actually have a chance of netting Mafia.
And I know those whom I trust. I'll return with some analysis.
Oh, and don't get cute and try to lynch me either.

Also my read-through of Epi's post history may have just bumped him ahead of Scotty on my, ahem, Rainbow List.
I don't see Elohcin as a civilian out of nowhere. I think my opinion on her should be seen as a weighty one. You think she's bad even though a lot of people are calling her good. I am quite busy atm but when I get a chance, I am going to reread you.
After two kills of silent players in a row, I'm way more suspicious of anyone who takes issue with comments about killing off the silent players than the people commenting about killing off the silent players themselves. What I mean by that is that it makes more sense to me that mafia would do this so that they could fish for comments like Scotty's (a perfectly natural and accurate statement about the game) and call it suspicious because they can pull out the "you planned this so you could say this" card. I don't get why so many players started reading Elohcin as civ out of nowhere.

Both times, people have forced my hand to save civilians rather than lynch Mafia. Hell yes I'm going to criticize that play.
I'm sorry if you are upset, MP, but Mafia is about scrutinizing people and their reasons for doing what they do. You have two phases under your belt that have been detrimental to civilians. That warrants scrutiny and criticism.

MovingPictures07 wrote:Elo, I appreciate your concern, but I'm not claiming any such role. I have a more intimate (for lack of a better word) mafia history with Sloonei than many others due at this site; I've hosted with him in Talking Heads and played games with him here and on RYM, and especially noted the differences between his civilian and mafia meta lately.
To clarify: to say the least, I'd be shocked if he flipped civilian. I'm pretty much putting my reputation on the line by vouching for him, but not in any attempt to mess with outing rules; rather, only to express how strongly I feel about him being town this game.
I perhaps have gone a bit overboard, but only because he has been receiving a lot of attention and he has almost been lynched.

Re: Rocky and Bullwinkle - The Legend of Frostbite Falls [Da
Eloh would have resulted in a mislynch too.a2thezebra wrote:Okay. Elohcin was fucking saved. You've got everyone who voted for indiglo out of nowhere for no reason, you've got MP who switched his vote from indiglo to Epi while still advocating that indiglo would be a better lynch than Eloh when keeping his vote on indiglo would have put indiglo at the lead at the time, (waffly, just a little bit waffly that is...just a tiny bit) you've got Scotty's vote for MP with reasons he couldn't seem to decide, and my personal favorite of them all, you've got Long Con going from his Elohcin vote to saying that he won't accept an Elohcin lynch and then switching to Scotty, effectively sealing indiglo's lynch. So the Elohcin lynch doesn't happen in favor of - surprise - a mislynch. A mislynch of a player that wasn't even talked about as suspicious before very near the end of the day and didn't arrive until it was practically too late to defend against the "thin air" (as she accurately put it) that her mislynch was. I especially loved it when MP asked for indiglo to give him content - when she was already trying to catch up and respond to his non-case - less than ten minutes before the day ended. I think indiglo hit the nail on the head right here:
Get your shit together, town. And way to completely annihilate my town read of you MP. This was the last nail in your-chances-of-being-town's coffin:indiglo wrote: I don't have time to respond to it all MP. Well played. I almost didn't make it on here this morning, but I had a few minutes so I came on. You have twisted and misinterpreted every single post of mine you've quoted.
I am now thinking he may be FL - who survives his first death. That's why he said "kill me instead of sloon." Then he opportunistically jumped on me instead, because why waste your first survival this early?
Here you're expecting her to catch up, respond to your defense, deliver content, and leave behind a legacy post (I'm guessing a rainbow list) in less than three fucking minutes. Are you shitting me? Scotty answered this better than I could.MovingPictures07 wrote:How about you give another suspect other than me, indi? Or do you not have any because you're fabricating your posts? You're about to die. Why don't you leave a legacy post?
"Why not" is fucking right. But you could have stopped it Scotty, and you didn't. If you had switched to Eloh then indiglo might have had a chance, but you didn't seem to care, too busy with your MP vote that didn't change anything and you knew that it wouldn't. I would be reading everyone but sprityo as bad right now but even sprityo seemed shady with his Eloh vote. Maybe he thought that her lynch was more likely at the time, so he contributed to her didn't-end-up-happening lynch for some town cred? Maybe. So everyone's bad, basically. Not everyone is anti-town but everyone's playing like it, fucking hell.Scotty wrote:Well maybe she had a CFD on her on the last 30 minutes- because why not- and was too busy trying to defend herself.MovingPictures07 wrote:How about you give another suspect other than me, indi? Moving forward, can we please have less "I have to vote to save X so let's scramble last minute" and more reasoned analysis? Even in Rocky & Bullwinkle, there was Mr. Peabody.

I made this up just now.
The Seattle Seahawks went to Golden Corral. The cashier insisted that Earl Thomas go to the buffet ahead of the rest of the team. Marshawn Lynch angrily demanded to know why.
"Safety first," the cashier said.

You know what else was awesome? You and S~V~S keeping me nearly lynched for days, making me use both my lynch stops before getting BTSC with me as part of the same house.bea wrote:Epignosis wrote:I saw Turnip Head with the devil!Turnip Head wrote:Epignosis wrote:She's fooled me once in three years.

What does this even mean? "Without putting it into words." Why would you do a crazy thing like articulating the reason behind your vote? Only two of those are present here. You'd have to ask yourself if either of them would employ the same rationale for kills as before.

If you lynch Eloh, you're an ignoramoose. Or bad.
So don't do it.
She stuck her neck out for me, and I am now inclined to do likewise because I pay attention and know how to read.
If you need lynch me to discover we're not teammates, that's fine. Knock yourselves out. I'll lose the game, but I'll still Gilbert Gottfried the shit out of you.
MP is casting lazy votes and now suspects nijuukyugou. I don't like that. Switching my vote to MP.
How is the "know how to read" comment even necessary? That's unnecessarily adversarial.
How am I casting "lazy" votes? I don't disagree, but you don't really explain that, especially since, as of this post of yours, I had only cast one vote in the entire game: against you.
Yeah, I suspected Blooper in d1 as I was catching up. Why don't you find her suspect? And how does me disagreeing with you make me bad? Townies disagree with each other all of the time.
WTF Epi?
I got your ass in here playing ball, didn't I? Beats the hell out of a last minute, uninformed vote against me.MovingPictures07 wrote:Explain yourself now.Epignosis wrote:I'm going to come on out and defend her. I think she's good. I would rather the civilians reevaluate.
As for Sloonei, that was my big suspect. Does Sloonei give up when civilian? When bad? I don't know.
MP suspects nijuu. I don't. So MP has my vote now.
