Re: Lawyers, Guns and Money- [DAY 5]
ONE OF THOSE DAYS
Despite being found out by the locals and torching the police outpost the evening before, Lawyers and Guns followed through with their plan to canvas 3rd Avenida for any fresh leads on their target. While it certainly moved them closer to completing their mission, it would also be the undoing of Guns.
Block by block, they move east along the Avenida. They met a few locals who thought they had seen Robbie the last few days. Promising stuff, but something seemed off to Lawyers. Everyone’s tale seemed a little too consistent- coached even, perhaps?
Lawyers tried to put this worry out of his mind as he and Guns brokered an afternoon meeting with a merchant who supposedly knew where Robbie was staying. They would have preferred to meet on their terms, but Lawyers and Guns had to concede the location. It was an oddly specific request, stoking that worry again.
The plan was simple- Guns would take part in the meeting, while Lawyers scoped things out from a distance. If something smelled off, Lawyers would use a few methods to signal to Guns to get the hell out of there. If shit went sour, he could shoot his way in to rescue guns if the situation looked promising, or he could disappear into the shadows altogether if there was no leverage or advantage to be had.
Guns knew the risk. He was a CIA lifer, recruited for this kind of work after a stint in the Marines. He knew how to disavow anything anyone thought he might know, and fake a story in the moment when necessary. He was no snitch. Up to now, he had only been interrogated once by a low-level goon in Biafra. His teams had been that good.
When Guns was in position, Lawyers analyzed the scene. He saw two of the men they had spoke to earlier that afternoon. They spoke to Guns briefly before heading inside. As Lawyers panned with his binoculars, his blood ran cold. Heading inside the back door to the same building Guns was being led into, was the tell-tale sign of bad news. He didn’t have time to signal Guns, and doing so would have brought a storm of hellfire straight toward himself.
“Good luck, solider,” Lawyers groaned under his breath.
-------------------
Guns knew something was off as soon as he entered the building. Instinctively, he went to draw his pistol. Halfway through the motion, however, he felt the cool touch of the business end of a Marakov semi-automatic on the back of his neck. He slowly raised his hands to show compliance and to prevent his brains from being ejected all over the wall opposite of his face.
“Greetings, comrade,” a thick-accented voice spoke from behind him. “Come sit, please. I would like to talk to you about this American boy we both want to find.”

Re: Lawyers, Guns and Money- [NIGHT 5]
MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION
Like rats from a sinking ship, people fled from the doctor’s office as it suddenly went up in flames. As the last light of day sank beyond the mountains of the mainland, a raging blaze lit up the night. The Oranges and reds of the fire cast a hellish glow on everything around it for blocks.
Once again, a haphazard fire crew arrived on the scene and did what they could to fight the conflagration. There were no car bombs this time. Just pure, unadulterated heat and a shower of embers that threatened to spread the calamity.
Lawyers observed his dirty work from the south. It brought him joy to exact such a costly revenge for the life of his friends. After the previous night, people knew trouble was present, so why bother hiding that reality tonight? He would do this every night until he was caught or he chose to end it his cruelty on his own terms.
Through his binoculars, he scanned the crowd. Like congregants at a cultic ritual, the town folk came in droves; some to wail at the horror of it all, but most just to stare at the unimaginable sight before them. It wasn’t just the locals though.
Sweeping left to right and back again over and over, Lawyers was getting a good sense of who lived in this section of town. There was the rat bastard snitches who sold his team out. Good to know; he’d deal with them at some point. There was also a glimpse of a man looking very out of place. His hair was trimmed high and tight; too conformist to be a tourist. The Russians were based near here it seemed. Lawyers tried to note the general direction the godless Red headed in as he tried to fade back into the shadows of the night.
Suddenly, the crowd erupted in terror. A man emerged from the doctor’s office fully engulfed in flames. He collapsed in the street just feet away from those rushing to help him. Women shielded their children’s eyes while men gawked at the shock of it all.
Let that sink in, folks, Lawyers thought to himself.
Then he saw something else that intrigued him. Another man, this one looking every bit as white as the Russian, but far more concerned. Lawyers squinted through the binoculars to get a better glimpse as the light of the fire danced across the man’s face. Yes- it was him! After days of searching, Lawyers scored his first glimpse of Robbie.
Much as he would have loved to stay and watch another block razed by his handiwork, he needed to move on his target. With the Russians so close, he couldn’t afford to yield them an inch in the next phase of the hunt.

Well Scotty was the only one to push back even minimally.
That said, I personally think Sean was town, but I think we all need to reevaluate our reads.
I’m gonna go back and read, because after Lucy’s elim, I’m not sure who I think The third could be.

I think it went well beyond inplying. You just were in confbias mode, seeing all random signs that support your theory while ignoring anything that refuted it.Golden wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:30 pmImplying is consistent with wolfpocketing, though. Ok, I don’t think Seanzie is bad.
Key thoughts:
Lucy towncleared dennis before she went out. I tend to lean wifom on that post, Dennis is town and Lucy wanted us to tinfoil him on the other side.
Rondo has consistently said neon is in wolfrange and that’s probably my starting point for another look today.

Also this. I’m otherwise staying out of this other than so say that on my current rainbow Sean is near the top.Golden wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 2:58 pm Chances of a Sean wolf going ‘you know what, i can use this as an opportunity to pocket golden’ and putting down doctor threads for me to see are astronomical. The doctor dying would refute it.
It’s a million percent more likely that Sean just happened to sharply change his read and I misjudged why than that he’s deliberately wolf-pocketing me.
Imma go read now.

I am sorry for briefly upsetting you. My goal with the Falcon vote was to see what it shook out. I think/hope it might be helpful, that was the goal. I only did it once I felt confident the Lucy outcome wasn’t in doubt (especially because I always intended to go back there).

Dennis should definitely be back in the mix, as much as I lean ‘Lucy was wifoming us’. She called him the obvious NK target on night 2. TMI? Misdirection? Or genuinely trying to push a wolfmate into the clear?

I thought Lucy was bad early, I *knew* she was bad when she got pissy that Kate was dead posting. It was almost like, “Shut up, you, I killed you!”. I think she was telling the truth that she was trying to wedge Kate/Dennis. That’s a big chunk of why I suspected her before I backed off.Golden wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:37 pm Ok, I don’t think Seanzie is bad.

I think Neon is town. No baddie would have gone that balls to the walls to protect a teamie, imo. But she made it sound like aggro defense is more the norm now, so outside of my experience.

Re: Lawyers, Guns and Money- [DAY 6]
I would not call it "hard bussing". Fingersplints said almost nothing about Mata and just voted. Fingersplints did have some interactions w/Lucy on like D2, but then don't say anything until you press her about Lucy yesterday. Granted, it does seem like she committed to Lucy quick and early yesterday when you asked her about it, so I will think about it, but I don't think Fingersplints would have had to do some crazy bus -just some early distancing that they felt they had to propagate when pressed.Golden wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:41 pmFingersplints would have had to be hard bussing the whole game. Really? I said I would nuke Golden if it wasnt for seanzie, he wasnt the only one but that is besides the point he was kinda saying he would vote golden as a softing of not being doc but I am not sure if that is wolf seanzie or not. For me today its Neon or Seanzie. Golden is basically 100% cop because no one can CC legally and even if they did then wolf would be dead within 2 days so not an option for them. Golden is now IC for me (I mean I said that yesterday but that was mostly a confidence over read)

If their D1/D2 came from a first time wolf, they've got some major potential.
I don't remember much of them since then, partially because I haven't read everything, but that alone seems enough for me to not care about them.

Falcon->Neon->Splints->Roxy

What are your reads on Falcon and Fingersplints?RondoDimBuckle wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:55 pmReally? I said I would nuke Golden if it wasnt for seanzie, he wasnt the only one but that is besides the point he was kinda saying he would vote golden as a softing of not being doc but I am not sure if that is wolf seanzie or not. For me today its Neon or Seanzie. Golden is basically 100% cop because no one can CC legally and even if they did then wolf would be dead within 2 days so not an option for them. Golden is now IC for me (I mean I said that yesterday but that was mostly a confidence over read)

Roxy is very much a stretch but I might as well add her before it gets to serious tinfoiling.

@Seanzie This, with the Lucy pocketing me thing, felt like she was trying to get me to suspect youlucy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 12:19 amI do think this is unlikely though after thinking about it, which makes Dennis/seanzie never w/wlucy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 12:17 am I don't like your logic because of he fact that he can make his own decision, and he doesn't need to be coached and he can independently act instinctively, though it would be hard for a first time mafia player to do so. I just disagree with the importance of being the last vote on a civilian and I dislike the fact that you're not considering worlds where seanzie is town and optically Dennis looks the exact same no matter where he votes. So I have not and will not clear him for such stuff as voting a town there
similarly there's a world where seanzie is scum and Dennis outted himself (very unlikely but possible), but I'm not really considering this whatsoever, just wanna say it because it's actually possible
I personally have coldread Dennis on multiple occasions and he's locktown for me, regardless of eod except in the aforementioned world

I have consistently thought neon was town, that’s my gut read. I’m just wondering if someone like rondo has a better read.S~V~S wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:51 pmI thought Lucy was bad early, I *knew* she was bad when she got pissy that Kate was dead posting.
Key thoughts:
Lucy towncleared dennis before she went out. I tend to lean wifom on that post, Dennis is town and Lucy wanted us to tinfoil him on the other side.
Rondo has consistently said neon is in wolfrange and that’s probably my starting point for another look today.
I think Neon is town. No baddie would have gone that balls to the walls to protect a teamie, imo. But she made it sound like aggro defense is more the norm now, so outside of my experience.
Where are you at on Roxy and Rondo? (I’m thinking here of rondo as bea and reevaluating reads on friends.)

Yeah, I cannot claim that if it’s not true, in accordance with the rules.RondoDimBuckle wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:55 pmReally?
